6 Days Guizhou Minority, Close touch of the minority culture

Welcome to Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou Province. Upon arrival, be met by our private guide and driver with warm smile. They will transfer you to the hotel and take care of the check-in in the hotel. Rest of the time is on your own to explore the surroundings.

After breakfast, take the 2 hours’ private transfer from Guiyang to Kaili, where you will visit several minority villages and have many cultural experiences.

On the way to Kaili, pay a visit to Qingman Miao Village. You will be greeted into the village by drinking the block-way wine made by the local villager. You will visit a local family to see the wooden house and their traditional way of dying fabric by using indigo.

After that, head to Shiqiao Village, famous for its traditional way of making paper from the bark of mulberry tree. You will learn the processing procedures and can try one of them.

Qingman Miao Village

Today, wake up naturally. Morning tour to Datang Short Skirt Miao Village, which is famous for the local Miao women's short skirts, the wooden house and the unique fireproof granaries which were built on the water to protect the granaries from the fire.

Then drive about 30 minutes to Langde Miao Ethnic Minority Village. Here you will listen to the minority songs and watch the minority dance. Learn some simple songs and dances with the guidance of the locals. Besides, Miao people are good at embroidery. Try your hands at the embroidery and create your own ‘masterpiece’.

Gain a broader knowledge of minority cultures and custom at Kaili Ethnic Minority Museum and then continue your tour to Shidong Miao Village for the silverwork learning. Silver decoration is another important thing besides embroidery, and Shidong Village is the most famous one in Guizhou.

After breakfast, leave Kaili for Zhaoxing by a 3-hour private transfer. Begin your tour in Zhaoxing from Zhaoxing Dong Village, which is not only the home of the Drum Tower, but also the home of singing and dancing.

Besides, you will learn to paint drum tower-theme pictures with the teacher’s instruction. Batik learning is also what you should not miss.

At the end of the day, pay a visit to Tang’an Village, which is about 30 minutes’ driving from Zhaoxing Dong Village. Roam in the village to have a closer view of local minority life.

Today is your departure day. Take the bullet train from Zhaoxing (Congjiang Train Station) back to Guiyang for your departure flight. The guide will help you with the airport check-in. Wave your goodbye at the airport check-in gate.
