Kunming, the capital city of Yunnan Province, has a history of over 2400 years. The city is known for being the gateway to the Silk Road that facilitated trade between Tibet, Sichuan, Myanmar, and India. Today, the city is Yunnan's political, economic, and cultural center. It is also the provincial center for transport, science, and technology and has become a top tourist destination worldwide.

Kunming has a pleasant climate, which accounts for its nickname 'the City of Eternal Spring.' The temperature in Kunming is pleasant year-round. Additionally, Kunming is the center of Yunnan's minority culture. There are 26 ethnic minorities there, including Yi, Bai, Miao, Dai, Hani, and others in that region. Each group has its own festivals such as the Torch Festival of the Yi people, the Golden Temple Fair, etc. What’s more, Kunming is home to renowned local dishes. The most famous is the Across Bridge Rice Noodle and Xuanwei Ham. You can enjoy both at local famous restaurants or a night market. In the night markets, you can find various pubs, bars, and cafes serving good quality food
