5 Days Tour of Shaolin Kungfu and Hiking

You’ll arrive in Luoyang to visit the world heritage site called Longmen Grottoes. You’ll take an open air bus to the entrance and walk for about 2-3 hours while enjoying the sculptures on the cliff. You can choose to visit 2-3 famous sights within 1.5 hours if you don’t want to take the long walk. You can take a dragon boat to receive an overview of the whole masterpiece. After lunch you’ll enjoy lingering on the Old City of Luoyang scattered with old shops, workshops like Old sewing shops, the shroud shops, family restaurants, among others. You can also visit a paper cutting master’s workshop and learn the skills.

Longmen Grottoes

After breakfast, go appreciate the Buddhist stone statues carved into the steep limestone cliffs at Longmen Grottoes. Next, wander through White Horse Temple, the birthplace of Chinese Buddhism.

Afterwards, drive to Luoyang Museum to see the collections of bronze, pottery, porcelain, gold, silver, jade and stone wares. In addition, the Ming and Qing dynasty articles include ancient calligraphic works and paintings, and folk art objects. It shows ancient Luoyang from all perspectives.

At last, do some shopping or taste some local snacks at Luoyang Old Town.

Longmen Grottoes

Drive about 1.5 hours to Shaolin Temple in Dengfeng. Observe the daily life and meditation of the monks and watch the wonderful Kungfu performances there. What you should not miss is the Pagoda Forest, which is a collection of ancient masonry architecture, sculpture, calligraphy and painting art. It is the tomb of the abbot of shaolin temple in all dynasties or the monks who have made achievements and contributions and also known as the "ancient pagoda art museum.

Shaolin Temple

After breakfast, be ready to experience the Chinese Kungfu on your own. You will learn to acquire some real Kungfu skills under the guidance of a professional teacher. The teacher will show you the complete movements of Kungfu and then teach you the movements one by one. Usually the lesson takes about 4 hours. You can choose to spend less time based on your needs.

You will be transferred back to Luoyang after the lesson.
