There are many different itineraries for hiking the Great Wall of China, as the wall is over 13,000 miles long. Some popular options include:

The Jiankou to Mutianyu section, which is considered one of the most scenic and challenging sections of the wall. This hike is approximately 10 miles long and takes about 8-10 hours to complete.

The Jinshanling to Simatai section, which is another challenging hike that offers beautiful views and a chance to see well-preserved sections of the wall. This hike is approximately 6 miles long and takes about 6-8 hours to complete.

The Huangyaguan to Jinshanling section, which is a moderate hike that passes through several restored and unrestored sections of the wall. This hike is approximately 5 miles long and takes about 4-6 hours to complete.

2-day itinerary: 

Day 1: Take a bus or train to the Great Wall at Badaling. Spend the morning exploring this section of the wall.

Day 2: Take a bus or train to the Great Wall at Jinshanling. Hike along this more remote and less-crowded section of the wall, and take in the beautiful views. Return to Beijing.

3-day itinerary

Day 1: Take a bus or train to the Great Wall at Mutianyu. Spend the morning exploring this section of the wall.

Day 2: Take a bus or train to the Great Wall at Jinshanling. Hike along this more remote and less-crowded section of the wall, and take in the beautiful views.

Day 3: Take a bus or train to the Great Wall at Simatai. Hike along this remote and less-crowded section, which is known for its steep inclines and beautiful views. Return to Beijing.

Great Wall Hiking and Camping
