15 Days China Disabled tour with Yunnan: Shanghai-Yangtze River-Dali-Kunming-Beijing

Welcome to Shanghai, one of the metropolis of China. Be greeted with a warm smile from our guide, who is waiting for you at the arrival hall. A non-smoking vehicle with an experienced driver will transfer you to the hotel. Rest of the day is on your own arrangement.

Shanghai

After breakfast, drive about 1.5 hours to Tongli, one of the famous ancient water towns near Shanghai. Tongli Water Town boasts stunning historic architectures dating back to the Ming and Qing Dynasties. You could still see what the local life is when visiting it. A rickshaw tour will save your energy and allows you to see more of the water town.

Day tour to Tongli Water Town with rickshaw

Join local residents reveling in the fresh air and green space in this lovely European-style park – Fuxing Park. Do some shopping and appreciate the picturesque and scintillating architectures at City God Temple area. Explore from the Chinese-French style architecture to the café, restaurants and bars at French Concession.

Admire Shikumen Residences and drink a coffee at Xintiandi. Feel the charm of the exotic old Shanghai and have a glimpse of the modern Shanghai over the river at the Bund.

After the tour, take the flight to Yichang to board the 5 nights and days upper Stream Yangtze River Cruise. The Yichang guide will meet you at the airport and help you with the check-in for the ship.

French Concession

When you wake up, you will find you have already on the trip. Today, you will pass though the 1st Gorge----Xiling Gorge. Also today comes one of the highlights of your Yangtze River cruise, the Shore excursion to Three Gorges Dam Site, the world's largest hydroelectric project.

Feel the ship lifted when passing through the 5-steps ship locks.

You will also enjoy the Captain’s Welcoming Banquet at night.

Yangtze River cruise

In the morning, you will take a shore excursion to Shennong Stream by the small boat. You will have the chance to experience the boat Towed by trackers.

After lunch, you can choose to visit White Emperor City (CNY260 per person) by paying the extra fee on your own.

Be ready with your camera and find a good view point as later you will pass through the 2nd and 3rd gorge--Wu gorge and Qutang gorge.

Enjoy the crew performance at night.

Yangtze River cruise

After the early breakfast, you will take the last shore excursion to Shibaozhai, a wooden structure leaning against the mountain. You have the option to enjoy a free afternoon or pay extra to visit the Fengdu Ghost City.

This is your last night on the ship. A farewell dinner will be served.

Arrive in Chongqing at 9:00am. The guide will wait for you at the pier and transfer you to the airport for the flight to Dali, a place full with water and flowers. Rest in the hotel upon arrival.

Yangtze River cruise

Dali Ancient Town nowadays is the treasure land of Bai ethnic minority showing their traditions and culture. Go up to the city wall and have an overlook of the whole town. Feel the tranquility and the breeze of Erhai Lake by taking a relaxing walk around it. Your tour to Dali will not be complete without seeing the authentically designed Three Pagodas as it is a symbol of Dali.

Flower cake is popular and famous in Yunnan. You may have seen them during your previous tours. Today, you will learn how to make flower cakes with the teachers’ guidance. Bring home some as souvenirs if you like.

Erhai Lake

Besides the regular sightseeing, you will have a hands-on activity today, Minority Tie-dyeing in Zhoucheng City. Create your own ‘masterpiece’ with the teacher’s instruction. Roam at Xizhou Farmer’s Market and experience the local lifestyle after the lesson.

After lunch, go to the train station and take the bullet train to Kunming.

Xizhou Market

After a good rest, today a 1.5 hours’ drive is needed from Kunming city to visit the Stone Forest. The various shapes of limestone were formed due to millions of years' movement of the Earth, like bamboo shoots, forests and pagodas. Enjoy a local lunch here. After that, you will be transferred back to the city area to visit Bird and Flower Market, where you are able to see various cheap flowers and birds.

Brid and Flower Market

In the morning, go to Green Lake Park, one of the most picturesque parks in Kunming downtown. Here you may take a leisure walk or enjoy the performance (playing Taichi, Mahjong and local opera) by local people. You are welcome to join them if you like. Follow on is the visit to the Black Dragon Pool, which was named after a legend stating that in ancient times there was a black dragon living in this pool.

End your Kunming tour with a visit to a Buddhist temple, Yuantong Temple. Different from most of the temples in China, the more you go in the temple, the lower the terrain.

Finish your Yunnan tour and go to the last stop of your China tour, Beijing, the capital of China by flight.

Yuantong Temple

Walk through Tian’anmen Square; you will enter the Forbidden City, a treasure trove housing numerous collections of the royalties.

Gain a deeper understanding of Beijing's history and culture by walking through the streets of the old hutong allays. Talk with the locals when visiting the local family to gain a better understanding of the local life. Besides the regular sightseeing, you will have a hands-on activity, opera face mask painting. You can bring your mask home after the lesson.

As the best-preserved and most complete section, Badaling Great Wall is the most popular section among the Great Wall. Wheelchair access is available here, so it is easy for you.

Come back to the city area to see a very ‘big bird nest’ at Olympic Green. Panjiayuan Antique Market was founded in 1992 and it is the most popular of all the markets for handicrafts, fakes and real antiques, books, stoneware, militaria and whatever. It is a real shoppers and hagglers heaven.

Badaling Great Wall

Considered the supreme achievement of traditional Chinese architecture, Temple of Heaven is a large religious complex for emperors in Ming and Qing Dynasty to pray for harvest. Now it is a popular park for locals doing morning exercises.

Be ready be amazed by the imperial garden, Summer Palace. It was the summer retreat for the royalty in the past and now it is still a good place to escape from the summer heat. Have a glimpse of the treasures in Capital Museum of Beijing at the end of the tour.
