As an important destination for Taoist pilgrimages, many people have been drawn to the mountain to meditate and practice martial arts. This place is known as the birth place of Tai Chi. This class of martial arts focuses on one’s inner flow of ying and yang, and harmony with nature, which link to the philosophy of Taoism. Other than admiring the scenery, architecture and learning the history of Wudang Mountains, you will also spend some time learning Chinese martial arts with a kung Fu master. Wudang martial arts, includes Tai Chi, Bagua Zhang (which literally means “eight trigram palm”) and Xingyi Quan (for direct translation meaning the “shape and intention fist”).
