Kashgar, renowned both in China and abroad, is a westernmost frontier city in China and a major trading hub on the ancient Silk Road. It blends a strong Central Asian atmosphere with a rich preservation of Uyghur culture and is described as the city farthest from the sea and closest to history. If you have seven days to explore Kashgar, how can you make the most of your time and fully experience its allure? This guide will provide you with a detailed itinerary for an unforgettable seven-day trip, ensuring that you can explore Kashgar to the fullest without missing out on its wonders.

Day 1: After a short rest arrived in Kashgar, you can enter the Ancient City of Kashgar in the evening, and stroll through the Khan Bazaar Night Market.

Day 2: Drive to the Baisha Lake, the following sights is the Karakul Lake and Muztagh Ata Glacier Park, and finally you will arrive in Tashkurgan.

Day 3: Travel through the Wakhan Corridor to the Khunjerab Border Gate. Then you may enjoy the thrill of the Panlong Ancient Road, and watch the beautiful Bandir Blue Lake.

Day 4: Visit the Taherman Wetlands to admire wetland grasslands nourished by glacial meltwater. Then visit the Tree Hollow Park. Head to the Muji Volcano Crater, the Eye of the Pamirs, to feel the earth's primal pulse, and then you will return to Kashgar.

Day 5: Watch the Opening Ceremony, and explore the Ancient City of Kashgar and the largest mosque in China, the Id Kah Mosque. Then head to the Dawakun Desert to try camel riding, experience the beauty of the desert. In the evening, you can camp at the desert.

Day 3: Arrive in Yarkand County and take your time exploring the royal mausoleums and palace of the Yarkand Khanate, then stroll leisurely through the Old City scenic area. You can also visit the ancient city gate of Yarkand and the Mausoleum of Amannisa Khan.

Day 4: Head to visit the Jinhuyang National Forest Park, admiring the vast poplar forests, and you can take a picnic there. In the afternoon, you may return to Kashgar or go to Yarkand, both of them have airports for you to leave.

Day 5: Travel to Makit County to encounter the Dolan people, renowned for their passion for music and dance. Visit Dolan Painting Town, listen to Dolan Muqam, and experience Dolan culture.

Day 6: Drive to Bachu County to visit the Bachu Red Sea, walk through the poplar forests, and feel the pulse of primal life. If time permits in the evening, you can return to Kashgar to browse the night market.

Day 7: Visit the Abakh Hoja Tomb and listen to the story of the Fragrant Concubine. If it happens to be a Sunday, you can also go to the Kashgar Livestock Bazaar to experience the area's unique and vibrant atmosphere.

Day 4: Reach Yarkand and visit the Yarkand Khan's Palace. Then head to the Taklamakan Desert and enjoy sand adventures at the N39° Desert Adventure Base. In the evening, you can camp in the desert and enjoy the sunset and starry sky there.

Day 5: Return to Kashgar and spend your time exploring the Ancient City of Kashgar. In the evening, seek for local delicious food at Khan Bazaar Night market.

Day 6: Drive to visit the Shipton's Arch to see the awe-inspiring craftsmanship of nature. Then continue to the junction of the Tianshan Mountains and the Kunlun Mountains. In the evening, turn to Wuqia County for accommodation.

Day 7: Return to Kashgar again and take a citywalk in the old city. If on a Sunday, you can visit the Livestock Bazaar.
