Kasghar BIKING Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kashgar

Arrive in Kashgar and spend some time exploring the city. Visit the Id Kah Mosque, the largest mosque in China, and the Abakh Khoja Tomb, a beautiful example of Islamic architecture. Enjoy local cuisine at a night market or restaurant.

Day 2: Biking to Karakul Lake

Start early in the morning and bike to Karakul Lake, a high-altitude lake located about 200 km from Kashgar. Along the way, you'll pass through the stunning Karakoram Highway, also known as the Friendship Highway, and the Tashkurgan County, a scenic and culturally rich region. Spend the night in a local guesthouse or yurt near the lake.

Day 3: Biking to Tashkurgan

After breakfast, bike to Tashkurgan, a small town near the border with Pakistan. The ride is relatively easy and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. In Tashkurgan, visit the Tashkurgan Fort, a historic fortress built during the Tang Dynasty, and the Stone City, an ancient ruined city nearby. Spend the night in Tashkurgan.

Day 4: Biking to Taxkorgan Nature Reserve

Today, bike to the Taxkorgan Nature Reserve, a beautiful natural area with diverse wildlife and stunning landscapes. Along the way, you'll pass through the picturesque Taghdumbash Pamir Mountains, one of the world's highest mountain ranges. Spend the night in a local guesthouse or campsite.

Day 5: Biking to Kashgar

After breakfast, bike back to Kashgar. The ride will take most of the day, but you'll have plenty of opportunities to take in the stunning scenery and visit local villages and towns along the way. Once you arrive back in Kashgar, celebrate your biking adventure with a delicious meal at a local restaurant.

Day 6: Departure from Kashgar

Depart from Kashgar and head to your next destination. Biking in Kashgar can be challenging due to the high altitude and rugged terrain. Make sure to bring appropriate gear and clothing, and consult with local experts to plan your route and itinerary.
