Potala PalaceDay 1: Arrive in Tibet and Have a Good Rest
Acclimatize to the plateau environment in Lhasa. You can take a walk in Potala Palace Square, admire the palace's grand silhouette from afar, and listen to the story of Songtsen Gampo and Princess Wencheng. You may also interact with pigeons, feed them corn kernels, and soak in the everyday atmosphere of Tibetan life.
Day 2: Recognize the Charm of Tibet Culture

Day 3: Approach to the Sacred Lake
Travel to one of Tibet's three sacred lakes, Yamdrok Lake, and when you admire it from above it resembles a sapphire embedded among towering peaks. If time allows, you can also continue on to visit the Karola Glacier, which glitters brilliantly under the sunlight.
Day 4: Enjoy the Parks on the Plateau
Stroll through Norbulingka, appreciate the artistry of Tibetan garden design, and enjoy a picnic on the shaded lawn beneath the trees. Then in the afternoon, head to Lalu Wetlands Park to enjoy the air of the plateau and watch the birds inhabiting there.

Samye MonasteryDay 1: Start Your Nyingchi-Shannan Circuit
Depart from Lhasa, drive to visit Lake Basum Tso. Walk across the floating bridge to the island in the center of the lake and reach the viewing deck, taking in the beautiful scenery. Then continue east to Sejila Mountain, look far to the majestic of Namjagbarwa Mountain in the distance. Finally you will arrive in Tashigang village and stay overnight.
Day 2: Explore the Green Area of the Plateau
Travel to the Lulang Forest, with the title of Tibet Jiangnan, and ride horses through the original forests shrouded in mist and rolling clouds. In a pasture at the foot of Sejila, you can experience life as a herder, feed yaks and enjoy archery. Then head to Nanyigou, the highest green secret realm on Earth. In the evening, reach Maining City for a rest.
Day 3: Make a Pilgrimage to the Sacred Lake
Travel to Lhamo La-tso, where it is said that one can glimpse their future reflected in the lake's waters. Each year from the fourth to the sixth month of the Tibetan calendar, many devoted pilgrims come here to worship and view the lake. Afterward, continue on to Gyaca County and stay overnight.
Day 4: Seek for Tibetan History and Beliefs
Drive to Tsetang, the cradle of Tibetan civilization and history. Visit Yumbulagang, Tibet's first palace, older in history than the Potala Palace. Then head to Chimpu Hermitage, a sacred retreat site where many high monks and tulkus once practiced, and visit Samye Monastery. Afterward, return to Lhasa.

Before 3:00 p.m., make your way to Sera Monastery to watch the traditional Tibetan-style Buddhist scripture debate (Monk Debating), and continue touring the monastery afterward.
Day 3: Immersing Yourself in Tibetan Life
In the morning, visit the Lhasa Museum to gain insight into and learn about Tibet. In the afternoon, head to the cultural experience hall at Lukhang Park to live a day as a Tibetan—dress in traditional Tibetan attire, try Tibetan food, and dance Guozhuang with the locals, immersing yourself in Tibetan life. In the evening, watch the performance of The Princess Wencheng, enjoying the legendary story and unique Tibetan-style opera.
Day 4: Try Tibetan Handicrafts in Person
Find a Tibetan culture experience hall on Barkhor Street to experience traditional Tibetan handicrafts, learn about the making of Tibetan incense, Tibetan calligraphy, thangka paintings, and woodblock printing, and even take your own creations home as souvenirs.
